INTRODUCTION

The Manufacturing Engineering Society International Conference is held every two years accomplishing one of the most important objectives of the Manufacturing Engineering Society: the experiences exchange forums creation in this field of knowledge. The Dimensional Metrology Research Group of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, in collaboration with personnel, Departments and Centers of the University, presents its candidacy for the celebration of the 8th International Conference, MESIC 2019, in Madrid the next June, 19 to 21 2019. In this edition of the Conference we intend to give continuity to the excellent experiences of the previous editions and serve again as a meeting and exchange point for all those people who develop their professional activity in the framework of Manufacturing Engineering Processes.
The main objective of the MESIC conference is to offer a meeting point for professionals, researchers and teachers of the industry, research centers and the university, where to present and discuss the latest advances in the field of Manufacturing Engineering.
The topics proposed for the presented works to the Conference are the following:
1. Advances and innovations in manufacturing processes
2. Additive manufacturing and 3D printing
3. Sustainable and green manufacturing
4. Micro and nano-manufacturing
5. Manufacturing with new materials (bio, green, lightweight, multi-functional, smart)
6. Trends in Manufacturing systems: machines, equipment and tooling
7. Robotics, mechatronics and manufacturing automation
8. Metrology and quality in manufacturing
9. Industry 4.0 (Digital, Smart, Virtual manufacturing …)
10. Assisted technologies for supporting manufacturing engineering
11. CAD / CAM / CAE / CIM and PLM Technologies
12. Design, modeling and simulation in manufacturing engineering
